Imura Art Gallery is pleased to present "CONSONANCE," a solo exhibition by Albert Yonathan Setyawan.

Indonesian artist Albert Yonathan Setyawan completed his Master's in the Faculty of Art & Design at Bandung Institute of Technology and earned his PhD from Kyoto Seika University in the Ceramic Art Department. He was based in Kyoto for 8 years while in graduate school and is currently based in Tokyo. 

This exhibition features a collection of works that are synonymous with Setyawan, consisting of terracotta components laid out on the walls. The exhibition title, "CONSONANCE," reflects the way each component is combined to form a work, and the harmony these pieces share within the gallery space. This exhibition explores the consonance of each from two perspectives: the individual and the whole, the micro and the macro.

この度、イムラアートギャラリーでは、アルベルト・ヨナタン・セティアワンの個展「CONSONANCE」を開催いたします。

 

インドネシア出身のアーティスト、アルベルト・ヨナタン・セティアワンは、バンドン工科大学視覚芸術専攻修士課程を修了後、京都精華大学大学院芸術研究科博士課程にて博士号を取得しました。大学院の在籍時から8 年に渡り京都を拠点に活動、現在は東京で活動しています。

 

本展では、テラコッタを素材に制作されたパーツを壁面に展開するセティアワンの代名詞とも言える作品群を展示いたします。展覧会のタイトル「CONSONANCE」には、一つ一つのパーツが組み合わさって作品になり、またその作品同士がギャラリー空間で調和する、という意味が込められています。個と全体、ミクロとマクロという二つの視点から、それぞれのConsonance（協和音）を探求した展覧会です。
